The Virginia Dirt Devils Fastpitch Softball Team is a non-profit organization based in Newport, Virginia in southwest Virginia. We are dedicated to building a positive supporting community for generations of girls and young women who enjoy the game of softball. The Dirt Devils organization values player development, a focus on teaching fundamentals, a family-friendly environment and a commitment to instilling confidence in all players. We feature both travel-based (10u,12u,14u, and HSu) as well as recreation programs that encompass ages pre-school to high school. Indoor and outdoor facilities enable year-round training and opportunities for individual lessons.
Dirt Devils 10u Finish Gold Bracket Runner Ups in 22 team Star City Kickoff Tournament.
The Dirt Devils battled hard in the two-day tournament only losing to the eventual champions in pool play and bracket play. The Dirt Devils played a complete game with strong offense, winning their first two games by a combined score of 22-0.
Dirt Devils 10u Win Season Opening Tournament
After dropping the first two games the Dirt Devils 10u team found another gear to take the tournament championship at the Shamrock Classic in Johnson City, Tennesse.
Dirt Devils 14u Kickoff 2026 Season as Tournament Runner-Ups in Abingdon.
With a team batting average in the first two games of .526, the Dirt Devils kickoff the season with a runner-up finish in Abingdon, Virginia.
Dirt Devils host Power Hour Spring Kickoff on March 1st
Dirt Devils hosted our first power hour of the year. This is a combined event with players who have signed up for our recreation teams and players who are currently with our travel-teams. This event featured a motivational talk to the players and families by Tanisha Johnson who is an ordained minister and has a career of working with children in foster care. Additionally, the event featured a guided training session with Doctor of Physical Therapy and former college baseball player, Dr. John Hunt. Dr. Hunt is a faculty member at Shenandoah University and consults with Virginia Tech Baseball as an expert in sports injury prevention and recovery who specializes in baseball, softball, and volleyball.
Power Hours are regular gatherings hosted by the Dirt Devils designed to build confidence by strengthening body and mind.
