Dirt Devil Nation Welcome Molly Jacobson as 12u Coach

A welcome message from Molly:

Hi everyone! My name is Molly Jacobson, and I’m excited to be joining the Dirt Devils as the Head Coach of the 12U team.

I grew up in Iowa and was fortunate to play Division I softball at both Virginia Tech and the University of Wisconsin. During my collegiate career, I was a member of Virginia Tech’s 2019 and 2022 ACC Regular Season Championship teams. I also earned NFCA Great Lakes All-Region Third Team honors at Wisconsin and was named to the Big Ten Watch List. I earned my Master’s degree in Sports Leadership and Coaching from Wisconsin before transitioning into collegiate coaching.

Most recently, I served as the Pitching Coach at the University of Saint Francis, where I worked closely with our pitchers and helped lead the program to one of its most successful seasons in recent years, including a conference tournament appearance and one of the lowest team ERAs in program history. Throughout my coaching career, I have also worked with athletes through private lessons, camps, clinics, and player development programs.

My passion has always been helping athletes reach their potential. I love teaching the game, building confidence, developing strong fundamentals, and helping players learn what it takes to succeed both on and off the field. I believe some of the most important lessons in softball are learning how to work hard, be a great teammate, overcome adversity, and compete with confidence.

As a coach, my goal is to create an environment where players feel supported, challenged, and excited to come to the field every day. I want our athletes to develop not only as softball players, but as young women who are confident, resilient, and prepared for whatever comes next.

I’m especially excited about bringing additional development opportunities to our organization through pitching instruction, arm care, speed and agility training, clinics, camps, and year-round skill development. I am passionate about helping athletes continue to grow outside of practices and games while giving them the tools they need to be successful at the next level.

I’m incredibly excited to be back in Southwest Virginia and grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Dirt Devils organization. I can’t wait to get to work and help our athletes grow, compete, and create lasting memories together. Looking forward to a great season!
